In my classroom I will hear the sound
Of squeaking pens and chattering children
Bashing books and rustling paper
Tapping, squeaking pencils
Clanking keyboards and brains ticking
Bells ringing and talking teachers

Grasshopper Class Year 4 2008
On the 7th September 1838 a girl called Grace Darling was watching the sea from a light house when disaster struck. The SS Forshfire was cruising on the sea but the engine wasn’t working.
The sailors tried to control the boat with the sails but suddenly it crashed into the rocks and sank under the sea.
There were only 19 survivors, 10 escaped on the only life boat and the others clung to the rocks.
Grace Darling set off in a row boat to save the survivors, the boat was small they had to make 2 trips to collect all of them.
News about how brave Grace Darling had been was heard all over the country.
Unfortunately Grace Darling died four years after the rescue aged 26. ![]()
On the 7th of September 1838 a terrible storm wrecked the SS –Forfarshire.
As Grace Darling and her dad William
rowed, they came to rocks.
Her dad got out of the boat, to examine the survivors.
Grace was steadying the boat. William did his best to help them. William, Grace, and the survivors rowed back to the light house.
Grace became popular and when Queen Victoria found out about her bravery she was rewarded with a medal.
The squeaky blue door swung
Open really fast I walked
I n the class room happy.
I rushed to get my book.
I ran in to get my pen.
I rushed to find my seat
really excited to be back at school
