The SS Forshfire was cruising on the sea but the engine wasn’t  working.

The sailors tried to control the boat with the sails but suddenly it crashed into the rocks and sank under the sea.

There were  only 19 survivors, 10 escaped  on the only life boat and the others clung to the rocks.

Grace Darling set off in a row boat  to save the survivors, the boat was small they had to make 2  trips to collect all of them.

News about how brave Grace Darling had been was heard all over the country.

Unfortunately Grace Darling died four years after the rescue aged 26. joshicon.jpg

As Grace Darling and her dad William
rowed, they came to rocks.

Her dad got out of the boat, to examine the survivors.

Grace was steadying the boat.  William did his best to help them. William, Grace, and the survivors rowed back to the light house.

Grace became popular and when Queen Victoria found out about her bravery she was rewarded with a medal.

Unfortunately Grace died four years later at the age of 26.jen
